Today I finally made it out to the seed store to pick up some seeds for my daughter and I to plant this week. I know it’s much to early to start planting my seeds for the square foot garden, but I thought it would be lots of fun to try anyway (and maybe she’d stop watering my artifical plant…yes, it’s my Christmas tree and yes, it’s still up).
We purchased some Marigolds, String Beans and Tomatoes. I have to confess the tomato plants were for me. They are supposed to grow indoors so I thought it would be fun to try.
I’m not sure what day this week we’ll start, but I think I’ll hire a sitter for my youngest so that we can make all the mess we want.
I want to start grown an indoor herb garden too. I was all set to buy the seeds for one today but got all flustered when I discovered that there must be at least a billion (okay, maybe I exaggerate a little bit, but not by very much) different types of basil and oregano. So I decided to leave with a cataglogue and will research the different kinds and figure out which ones we will use the most.
I love gardening and can’t wait until the spring when I can really get my hands dirty and dig up some beds!
