The author Tali Carmi takes us on a journey through the forest exploring different animal habitats. We learn how various animal mothers take care of their babies.
The book is written in rhyming prose for children between the ages of 2 and 6. Sometimes I found myself stumbling through the text as it didn’t always flow quite as smoothly as expected. My daughter never seemed to notice though and simply enjoyed the story for what it was.
I loved how the book was able to sneak in some learning while having fun. We learned where turtles lay their eggs and even how alligators care for their babies. I did feel the need to stress to my daughter that if she find an egg to leave it alone. We live in an area close to the woods and there are always little critters running around, and I felt it necessary to tell her that nature will care for it own.
The author also gives you a free gift of a colouring page to share with your child.
