Asia’s New Wings – The Untold Story of a Young Girl Lost on 9/11

AsiasNewWingsThe loss of a child is every parents worst nightmare.  I can’t even begin to image the pain and sorrow that a parent would go through.  I remember watching news as the media covered the events of 9/11 and seeing the sorrow and fear in the eyes of parents and friends as they searched for loved ones.  As the years have passed I see reports and stories of the healing that people have found through the God’s Grace in the aftermath of a horrendous tragedy that shook the world.

“Asia’s New Wings – The Untold Story of a Young Girl Lost on 9/11” tells the story of on families loss and how their faith in God brought them through.

The authors, Clifton and Dr. Michelle Cottom share their story with you.  By Chapter 3 I was in tears.  I had to finish the book and then go back and read it again.

Eleven year old Asia is a bright and talented student.  She looked forward to a trip that she had been awarded to her by her school. Chosen to spend four days at the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary in Santa Barbara, California was a great honour!  Asia’s family were very happy for her and proud of her abilities. They cheerfully waved her goodbye on that morning, not knowing it was the last time they would see their precious Asia alive again.

Then Flight #77 was crashed into the Pentagon.  Life was forever changed for Asia’s family.  Asia’s parents, Michelle and Clinton Cottom and her brother Isiah had to come to learn to lean on God and overcome their grief with the death of Asia.

This book will take you on the long journey through shock, grief, anger and ultimately to the healing power of God.  A story of a young girls short life that will now be a blessing and inspiration to others.
