“Grandpa Hugs” by Laura Neutzling, is a story about the unbreakable bond between a Grandpa and his Grandchild. Join these special duo’s as they learn to ride a bike, read stories and say their bedtime prayers.

The story features a variety of cuddly animals that will delight little ones. Inside the pages you will find pictures of monkeys, rabbits, giraffes and other animals.  The illustrations are beautiful with soft soothing colours perfect for bedtime.

Grandpa Hugs Inside Pages

There are just a few lines of text on each page, making it great for young readers. There are some difficult words, such as “adventure”  and “whiskers” that may challenge some younger readers.  We enjoyed the change in font, it adds some whimsy to each page. While I love the whimsy the change in font may pose a challenge to new readers, notice the difference in the letter “a” in sea and Grandpa.

“Grandpa Hugs” is a beautiful story that shares different activities that little ones can relate to. Sharing ice cream, telling jokes and reading stories.  There are so many little life lessons shared in this story, that you will want to read it again and again to your little one. The giraffes teach us about sportsmanship and the tigers teach us about spending time together.

There is a christian element to the story as well, as the puppies share a special nighttime prayer. While it is not explicitly stated in the story, “Grandpa Hugs” is a reminder that God loves us so much that he gave us Grandpas to show us!

“Grandpa Hugs” is perfect for little hands, featuring a padded cover and rounded page edges. It would make a beautiful gift for a Grandchild or even Grandpa!

The story is a beautiful story to share with your little one at bedtime or anything at all. It can be purchased at major retailers, including Thomas Nelson.
