Summertime has finally arrived and the kids are having fun playing outdoors with all their friends. On rainy days they love to take the fun indoors and create their own board games. The clipart contains 26 graphics perfect for celebrating groundhog day. The graphics are in PNG file on a white background. The page says there will be an update of transparent files in the future. Each graphic is created at 300dpi which is perfect for printing. I like that each image is large and can be resized to suit your project.
Most graphics have both a colour and black and white version, the exception being the groundhog with the poster that has only the black and white version. I like that there are two different versions of each image. The black and white allows you to print using less ink and also allows children to customize their resource with their favourite colours. The coloured versions are fantastic for creating vibrant resources in simple colours.
There are graphics to create a sequence of events about groundhog day, from seeing the groundhog hole to the groundhog seeing (or not seeing) their shadow.
I did have a problem with one file where it is missing the file extension. I simply added “.png” and was able to access the file. I also expected to see a smiling sun and cloud that I see on the cover image but they are not there.
Overall these are cute graphics but keep in mind your end use as they are not on transparent backgrounds. We enjoyed using them to create a Groundhog Day board game. In the future my daughter would love to use them to make an emergent reader book about Groundhog Day.
